I still have some classes to follow, but after reaching "Planetary outpost elements configuration" it is already the time to give 5 stars. I appreciate so much the multidisciplinary perspective of Barbara Imhof and René Waclavicek, where the operational aspects are perfectly harmonized with the humanistic ones.

With a topic of such depth and potential branching, the lectures manage to compile a solid and clear map of the current state and future development of the field. The first-hand knowledge of the lecturers comes clear in every presentation and the result is always enticing and instructive. The overall experience is great and you really want to come back for more. The only thing that can use some improvement is the delivery of the presentations (Graphics, video & speech, transitions) to avoid distractions from the fantastic content. Thank you for a stimulating experience. Hope to see you again soon!

F.A.Q.

Does the course require live participation?

No, the course is entirely on-demand and consists of video-recorded lessons that can be accessed from any device and at any time from the students’ personal dashboard. However, online meetings are organized throughout the year (for members only) for Q&A sessions with speakers and experts in the field.

Who are the instructor?

Dr. Daniel Levi is a Neurosurgeon, Scientist, Clinical and Research Strategic Manager @ Ticino Health, Astrophysics Fanatic, President of the Competence Center for Genetic Engineering, Member of the Swiss Institute for Disruptive Innovation. Prof. Pasquale Ferrante is a World famous virologist, medical scientist and full professor at the University of Milan, with an extensive experience in genetic engineering technologies. Paola Sonni is a lawyer, member of the Swiss Institute for Disruptive Innovation, who has developed a heterogeneous set of skills that arise from the convergence between law, medicine, and new technologies with a specific focus on genome editing.

Why should I take this course?

DNA and genetic engineering will play an increasing role in the field of justice, investigation and forensic science. However, genetics-related technologies are largely overrated, as is the reliability of the results, which are known to be exposed to the risk of human error. More importantly, recent technological innovations and their future evolutions may conceal dangerous threats to the search for truth. Anyone who wants to work in the field of forensic science must necessarily be familiar with genetics and how technologies related to DNA work.

Does access to the courses have an expiry day?

No, the course has lifetime access.

Does the School issue certifications?

Of course, once you have finished the course, you can download the School of Disruption certification, recognized by the Swiss Institute for Disruptive Innovation. The certificate can be attached to your CV or registered on LinkedIn.
